PARKS
There are many recreation centers in the area - 12 in Fort
Worth alone, featuring tennis courts, swimming pools, golf

Lake Arlington, Grapevine Lake, Lake Worth, and Eagle Mountain
Lake.

COLLEGE SPORTS
There are many colleges and universities in the area which
feature a large variety of sports, including football, baseball,
basketball, soccer, golf, and tennis.
The largest, most well-known universities in the area are
the following: Texas Christian University Horned Frogs,
University of North Texas Eagles, Southwestern Methodist
University Mustangs, University of Texas at Arlington Mavericks,
and Texas Wesleyan University.
EQUESTRIAN
- Trinity Meadows Raceway: Quarterhorse and thoroughbred racing just 20 minutes west
of Fort Worth.
- Lone Star Raceway: Began construction in Grand Prairie in 1996.
- Will Rogers Equestrian Center:
State-of-the-art facility unsurpassed in the nation. For
two weeks each year, this facility is the site of the
National Cutting Horse Association Futurity.
GOLF - PUBLIC AND PRIVATE COURSES
There are many fine golf courses in the area, including
the course at Colonial Country Club, which is the site of
the annual PGA Invitational Tournament. Whether you are
a beginner or an expert, Fort Worth offers a wide range
of courses. Green fees and other costs vary greatly from
course to course.
MOTORSPORTS
Texas Motor Speedway
seats 150,000 spectators and offer 205 suites. Located near
Alliance Airport, this raceway features a 1.5 mile speedway.
